SUPRIYO ROY

BIO-DATA: Supriyo started learning tabla from Shri Bappa Dittya Roy, a senior student of Pandit Shankar Ghosh at a tender age of 5. He is currently trained under the tutelage of Legendary Pandit Abhijit Banerjee hailing from the famous Farukhhabad-Lucknow Gharana. 

Supriyo has always been a dedicated and harworking learner with keen interestes in knowing the nuances of his gharana along with the styles of other gharanas. Over the past few years he has mastered the techniques for professional tabla playing and his skills have been a keen asset for the academy improving many young talents out there. 

He has designed the course and curriculum of Tabla department of our Academy after taking guidance from many renowned Musicians. He has performed solo in many of the prestigious concerts of Kolkata along with his father Shri Aloke Roy on the Harmonium. He has also accompanied eminent vocalists and instrumentalists in different prestigious events.
